Set up recurring invoices

Bill the same customers on a schedule — Papertools creates each invoice automatically, and can send it for you too.

Automation

If you bill a customer the same amount on a regular cycle, set it up once and let Papertools handle the rest. You'll find it under Automation → Recurring Invoices.

Create a schedule

  1. Open Automation → Recurring Invoices and choose New.
  2. Pick the customer and add the line items, just like a normal invoice.
  3. Set the cadence:
    • Frequency — weekly, monthly, quarterly, and so on.
    • Start date — when the first one goes out.
    • Ends — never, on a set date, or after a number of invoices.
  4. Turn on auto-send if you'd like each invoice emailed to the customer automatically. Leave it off to review each one first.
  5. Save.

From there, Papertools generates each invoice right on schedule.

Good to know

  • With auto-send on, the invoice emails itself — a branded PDF and a pay link, hands-free.
  • With it off, each new invoice lands as a draft for you to review and send.

Papertools can automate money going out, too — see Set up recurring bills.
