Bought, but not on the shelf yet
A bill can now say the goods are still on the way — your stock waits for the landing, and your books hold the value in transit until it arrives.
If you import, you know the gap: the supplier's invoice arrives weeks before the container does. You owe the money now. You do not have the goods yet. Until today Papertools made you choose between recording the bill (and pretending the stock was on the shelf) or waiting for the truck (and pretending you did not owe anything).
Say the goods are on the way
When you record a bill for stock, you can now mark it Goods arrival: on the way. The bill is recorded as usual — the supplier is owed, the tax is counted — but nothing lands on the shelf. Your stock-on-hand stays honest, and your books carry the value in a Goods in transit account until the goods actually arrive.
Mark what actually landed
When the truck comes, open the bill and mark the arrival. You record what was actually unloaded — all of it, or just the part that made it this time — and only that moves onto the shelf, at the cost the bill carries. Partial deliveries are ordinary, so partial arrivals are too. When the last item lands, transit goes back to zero on its own.
The bill's date is when you owed the money. The arrival's date is when you owned the stock. They are different days, and now your books say so.

And a line for the journey
Every catalog now carries a Shipping/Transportation item — zero-priced, ready to add to any invoice or bill when there is a delivery to charge for or pay for. Edit its name or price like any other item. The books already know where that money goes: shipping you charge lands in shipping income, shipping you pay in shipping & delivery.
A closed month stays closed: an arrival cannot be dated into a month you have locked, exactly like any other document.
